Microcredentials in SMART AGE: New and easy ways to show your competences in your CV!

As Europe continues to embrace lifelong learning, EU microcredentials are opening exciting new opportunities for learners of all ages – including seniors. These short, flexible certifications recognise specific skills and competences gained through courses, workshops, and online learning. For participants in the SMART AGE project, microcredentials can provide meaningful recognition for developing essential media and digital literacy skills, from spotting misinformation and understanding artificial intelligence to staying safe and confident online.

For many older adults, learning something new is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about feeling connected, empowered, and included in today’s increasingly digital society. By integrating microcredentials into SMART AGE, the project helps seniors turn their achievements into visible and valued qualifications, boosting confidence and encouraging continued participation in lifelong learning. In this way, SMART AGE supports the European vision of a more inclusive, digitally skilled, and resilient society for all generations.

Our curriculum, that is currently under development, will allow seniors to easily add their gained competences to their CV – which also works already now through Europass! See more information here: https://education.ec.europa.eu/education-levels/higher-education/micro-credentials
